Allstate Home and Auto Insurance: Is Bundling Policies the Best Option?

Recently, Allstate Insurance announced it would take steps to drop all policyholders in North Carolina who did not agree to carry both homeowners and auto insurance policies. This is a major move for the insurance companywhile most insurers encourage bundling multiple policies under their umbrella of coverage, it isnt typically required.

This new requirement poses a question that policyholders often wonder: Is it really better to bundle insurance policies? The insurer has clearly decided it is, but does it make life easier or harder for the policyholders?

Ten million Americans lose dental benefits in 2010

If any American needed a reason to investigate annuities, the latest statistics from the National Association of Dental Plans might encourage them to consider this source of post-retirement income.

According to recent statistics, employer sponsored dental benefit enrollment declined by 5.7 percent in 2010, marking the first drop in dental enrollment since 1994.

The 2010 Dental Benefits Enrollment Report revealed that only 166 million Americans were covered by dental benefits through group or individual plans in 2009, and the decrease in benefit enrollment represents about 10 million fewer Americans without dental benefits.

“While total enrollment significantly declined in 2010, the number of employer groups offering dental benefits remained consistent, compared to the previous year,” said Evelyn F.

Supreme Court Examines Obama Health Care Reform Law

Today marks the first day the Supreme Court will examine the health care reform, officially known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. More than two years after the act was signed into law, President Obama and supporters are pushing to prove that a portion of the law requiring the purchase of health coverage is constitutional.

Health Care Reform Mandate Receives Scrutiny

The Supreme Court is embarking on a three-day examination of the health care reform, specifically the Affordable Care Act, which is expected to require Americans to purchase health insuranceby 2014.

Opponents of the law argue that requiring the purchase of health insurance is unconstitutional, because it allows the government to interfere with the commerce clause.
